Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge Celebrates Grand Opening

Huntsville, ON - This afternoon, residents, family members, team members, special guests and the broader community gathered at Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge to celebrate the grand opening of this much anticipated senior living community, situated in the heart of Huntsville, on beautiful Fairy Lake.

"There were some unavoidable delays due to COVID-19 and human resource and material supply shortages, but the vision and spirit for Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge has now become a reality," said Sarah Caswell, Sales Coordinator at the lodge. "We could not have built the lodge without broad support from the community of Huntsville, our municipal council and our residents, who began arriving in June 2023. Today's celebration is for our entire community," she added.

The state-of-the-art retirement lodge includes 100 suites of various sizes for residents in the main building and 14 lakeside townhouses, creating housing options for senior aged residents from Huntsville and the surrounding communities. Built around a community model, Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge residents enjoy an active, engaged standard of living with organized activities, delicious home-style meals and medication assistance, to name just a few of the services offered. While the community is situated close to trails and shopping and nearby amenities, it also has its own theatre, games room and lounges for visitors, greenhouse - and even a classy dining room and bar!

"Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge will make a valuable addition to our community here in Huntsville - I was particularly happy to see a multi-purpose trail along the waterfront as part of this development," says Mayor Nancy Alcock.

The completion of the retirement lodge builds on the organization's experience in senior care, which began 20-years ago in Huntsville with Muskoka Landing long-term care, on the property adjacent to the new lodge. The parent organization of Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge, Jarlette Health Services, has operated long-term care and retirement communities for over 50 years throughout Ontario, mostly in small and rural communities. It has been based for that entire time in Midland, Ontario.

There are employment opportunities at Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge for person-centred individuals with diverse employment backgrounds. Volunteers over the age of 14 are also invited to reach out if they are interested in sharing their time and hobbies with residents or gaining community service hours. Interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Join Our Team page at www.jarlette.com for more information.
