Join our team as a Life Enrichment Coordinator!

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Life Enrichment Coordinator shall provide a comprehensive recreation program for the benefit of each resident on a continuing basis. The Life Enrichment Coordinator is required to plan, direct, and coordinate the necessary activities for the recreation program within the home to meet each resident’s psychological, physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

 

The following traits and qualifications are required:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or other related field

  • At least one year of experience in a health care setting as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 s 79 and Ontario Reg 246/22

  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education 

  • Must have knowledge of community resources, recreation program development and techniques

  • Ability to understand, accept and relate to people regardless of their physical, psychological or emotional state

  • Ability to supervise and work cooperatively with others

  • Ability to organize and lead both small and large  groups 

  • Must be computer literate

  • Responsible to implement and communicate to all residents and families a schedule of recreation and social activities that are offered during days, evenings and weekends

  • Responsible for the provision and assistance with recreation and social activities that include a range of indoor and outdoor recreation, leisure and outings that are of a frequency and type to benefit all residents of the home and reflect their interests
